Puaikura Overcome Titikaveka
This weekend we saw Puaikura and Titikaveka go head to head to kickstart the first round of the football season. Due to a handball in the goal box which gave Puaikura’s Dwayne Tiputoa a penalty kick in goal which put Puaikura in the lead ultimately giving them their 1-0 win over Titikaveka. The game was played in slippery conditions and it affected a good passing game.
On Friday we saw Matavera and Tupapa Premier Men’s battle it out at the CIFA grounds. Tupapas Paavo Mustonen and Geoff Strickland putting in two goals for Tupapa combined with the 1 own goal for Matavera leading to Tupapas 3-0 victory over Matavera.
In the other Premier Mens match, host Nikao Sokkatak took out Avatiu with a 3 nil victory. In the senior women’s division, scores were locked in at nil all till the final whistle.
In the women’s match at Teimurimotia, Puaikuras Victoria Fatiaki coming in at the first half to get the score at 1-0. With this being the only point scored for the game allowing Puaikura to put some points over Titikaveka’s Senior Women.
