Beach Soccer Teams Bring Their A Game in Day 2

On Wednesday Day 2 of the CIFA Beach Soccer Competition kicked off in what was another great afternoon for football. The first Men’s game saw the Black Wolves take on the PFC Boyz with the Black Wolves causing a 8 nil win in favor of the Wolves. Following that game the Matavera FC Men’s were not willing to give up their winning streak from Saturday when they fired the first goal past the Wantok goalie to give them the lead in the first half. A lapse in judgement from the Matavera keeper caused the Wantoks to get a place on the scoreboard bringing the score to 1 – 1 before the final hooter blew. A close match up took place when the PFC Guyz and Titikaveka Blue Ballz took to the sand court. Both team were quick to reply when goals were bring scored ending the first half at 2 – 2. The second half was a test of endurance for the two teams to see who would come out of the other side as the victor. PFC Guyz held on and managed to slip a ball past the Blue Ballz goalkeeper giving them their second win of the competition. The final men’s game was played just at the break of dusk with the Nikao Sokattak team and the MC Stallions taking to the sand pitch. With MC Stallions taking the lead in the first half, Nikao Sokattak soon replied. As the second half was underway the score was tied up at 4 – 4. A last minute goal from the MC Stallions gave the team their first win as the hooter blew to end day 2.

In the Women’s division crowd favorites The Vibers took on Matavera FC just managing to scrape through with a 2 – 1 win. The fierce Ladies in Black secured their second win as they played the PFC Girls with the final scores at 5 – 3. The next game that was played between the PFC Maidenz and Titikaveka Blue Blazes saw a very close match up. The Titikaveka Blue Blazes played extremely well and managed to get 2 goals past the goalkeeper in the first half with a victory in their sights. PFC were not giving up yet as they were quick to reply in the final half evening the scores at 2 – 2. PFC was hot on the trail of scoring a final goal before the hooter went but were unsuccessful in their efforts ending the game at a 2 – 2 tie.

In today’s match ups for the open men, top of the table PFC Guyz are set to take on team Wantoks in what is looking to be a thrilling game. PFC Guyz are a team that is capable of making goals happen from anywhere on the pitch and will be a very diificult adversary for team Wantoks. The speedy Wantoks team known for their great control of the ball on the sand will not make scoring easy for the PFC Guyz as most teams have discovered the sand to be a tough adversary when it comes to ball work. Meanwhile the 2 underdog teams Matavera FC and Titikaveka Blue Ballz will be another great game to look out for in today’s games.

First and second placed in the women’s division Ladies in Black and The Vibers will be the first game of the day to start us off and a victor is unknown as both teams display a lot of talent and drive. Can the Vibers take the lead for the open women’s?
