AVATIU AIM TO FOIL TUPAPA’S CAMPAIGN

The Tupapa Maraerenga senior women have chance at claiming the round cup trophy in today’s match with Avatiu at the CIFA complex in Matavera.

Defending champions Tupapa will aim a win in their match today against the Avatiu senior women in hopes of claiming the Round cup for the second year running.

The twelve-time champions are the favourites to win though Avatiu are not a team to be underestimated. Avatiu are capable of denying Tupapa the chance of claiming the cup this week and will be aiming to do so.

Avatiu are strong on defense with the likes of Piri Murare and Phillippa Smith holding the fort for their side, and the defensive pair will likely play key roles in doing just that in today’s match with Tupapa.

Up the front for Tupapa, Kura Tare has been lethal against many sides slotting goals past goal keepers and helping her side win games this season. Elizabeth Harmon has also played a crucial role for Tupapa, being the savior of some matches by scoring crucial goals to win games.

This match is building up to one to watch and should be closely contested.

The Avatiu premier men will go up against Tupapa Maraerenga tomorrow at 5pm and will aim to thwart Tupapa’s round cup championship campaign through a win or draw.

The men in yellow still sit at the bottom of the table regardless of the results and performances they have had recently and a win against the defending champions could just be the turnaround for them.

Avatiu have stepped up their game in the last round and have managed put pressure on some top teams during their recent matches. Their latest performances could suggest that there might be an upset tomorrow.

Tupapa will likely be preparing themselves for any possible situation and will work towards a win as well. Tupapa will be focused on winning their remaining two matches in the round to as they aim for their third consecutive round cup championship win.
