The Avatiu premier men collected their first points of the season last week after taking down Titikaveka, now they will go up against Tupapa Maraerenga who sit second on the table. After finding success last week, Avatiu have gained some much-needed confidence and will likely come out guns blazing against their opponents this week. This match is a home game for Avatiu and therefore one they would not like to lose. They will be coming out eager to bring down Tupapa and climb up the ladder as they sit only one point behind Matavera-Ngatangiia.
For Tupapa, a win is a must to keep their hopes alive at finishing on top of the table. The race between them and Nikao is close and either team can’t afford to lose points.
The Avatiu senior women will also be coming out to put Tupapa away as they too will be eager to climb up the women’s points table. Avatiu who sit in third equal with Titikaveka are needing a win to close the gap between them and the top two. Should they come away with a win they will be within two points of second place.
Also facing-off this Saturday, at the CIFA complex, is Titikaveka and Matavera-Ngatangiia. Titikaveka have had a series of unfortunate results and will need to come away with a win today to keep their hopes alive at a top three finish. Today they will play Matavera-Ngatangiia who are also hunting a win to make their way up the ladder. Matavera fell heavily to Nikao last week and will be coming out to make up for such a heavy loss.
