Tupapa Maraerenga is set to host Avatiu tomorrow as the two clubs go head to head.
Going into tomorrow’s match, Avatiu’s premier men will be looking to capitalize on Tupapa’s recent average form to come away with their first win of the season and will be aiming to do that by pressuring the Tupapa midfield say’s Avatiu head coach Ngatii Manuela. “We are counting on our senior players to lead through the likes of Luke Vidovi and Melbourne Matakino in the defense, Aturangi Putere in the Midfield and Victor Elikana up the front to dictate the play as we have a young side.”
“We also know that Tupapa will likely bring a strong team lead by the likes of Grover Harmon and Anthony Samuela who we will look to shut down, as these two control the game in terms of tempo and on the counter attack.” Added Manuela.
Tupapa Maraerenga’s Head coach Tuka Tisam say’s Avatiu is not a team to be underestimated. “They have their bad days and they have some pretty good ones, but overall, we will try to play our game. We have been working on a few things in training and we are still finding our form but we will try to execute our plan.”
Avatiu’s senior women will have challenging game at 2:30pm tomorrow when they go up against the current top of the table team Tupapa Maraerenga. Avatiu’s senior women will be confident heading into their match after their draw last week with last year’s knock-out cup champions Titikaveka. The Avatiu women will need to bring that same determination and fighting spirit they had against Titikaveka to this game, to give Tupapa a good run for their money.
Also playing tomorrow is Titikaveka and Matavera-Ngatangiia at Teimurimotia Park. The Matavera premier men’s deep field defensive tactic almost worked for them last week against Nikao Sokattak when they went down two goals to one and will likely be in play in their match tomorrow. This could be the ideal counter to Titikaveka’s speed and could lead to their first win of the season. Meanwhile Titikaveka will be looking to further their lead after they topped the table last week with their win against Avatiu and will fight for a win tomorrow.
