CIFA signs big with Genius

The Cook Islands Football Association has signed a 5-year sponsorship deal with Genius Sports, Sydney, Australia.

Genius Sports is a big company and is a partner to some of the largest organizations such as football leagues, national federations, and clubs. Genius Sports will provide its suite of leading data and digital solutions to help drive the growth of football in the Cook Islands.

After several months of negotiations between the CIFA President Mr. Lee Harmon/Secretariat and Genius Sports representative John Curzon, the contract for this sponsorship deal was signed three days ago. Through this sponsorship CIFA will receive funds and value in kind to the tune of NZD640,000 over a five-year period.

Through Genius Sports, live team and player statistics on CIFA competitions will be captured and distributed across its website, mobile application and a new automated social media publishing solution, delivering new insights to CIFA fans. Genius Sports’ competition management solution will automate and simplify key administrative tasks for the CIFA’s competitions.

According to CIFA President Mr. Lee Harmon, “This is an arrangement the CIFA Administration have been working on for several months and is the biggest sponsorship deal CIFA have signed with a private company besides FIFA and OFC.”

“The Cook Islands Football Association is so grateful for this great opportunity to work with a company such as Genius Sports,” says Harmon.

John Curzon, Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager at Genius Sports, said: “One of our key missions is to provide football associations at every level with technology that helps them to drive their digital transformation, engage with their fans and create new revenues. We’re looking forward to working with the CIFA to enhance their digital capabilities.”

This sponsorship will no doubt enhance football’s profile; and professionalize and commercialize the administrative and data collection of information.
