Cook Islands Football Academy Beckons Parents to a Week of Spirited Training

Amidst the palm-fringed fields of the Cook Islands, a chorus of young voices rises in excitement. The Cook Islands Football Academy is abuzz with anticipation for this week’s series of training sessions, where the stars of tomorrow hone their skills with fervor. From the nimble U11s to the robust U19s, each age group is poised for a display of passion and prowess, and the academy extends a heartfelt invitation to the most vital members of our players’ teams, their parents.

The week unfolds with the U11 boys and girls, the youngest of the academy, setting the tone with their infectious energy on Monday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm. The schedule then cascades through the week with precision, a ballet of budding U15 girls and U16 boys talents gracing the pitch on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, while the U19 men anchor the evenings with their strategic play at 7:00pm – 8:30 pm. The U14 Boys and Girls will take over the pitch on Wednesday from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.

Each session is a window into the commitment of these young athletes. Under the guidance of our dedicated coaches James Nand, Ingrid Kelly, Teahi Wuatai, Kataraina Piri, Mii Savage, Tupou Brogan, Claudine Robati, Ngati Manuela, George Ellis, Tyson Oaariki and Jess Ibrom,  each drill and scrimmage is a step towards mastery.

As Saturday dawns, it’s not just another day in paradise, but a chance for the U15 girls and U16 boys to showcase their week’s progress beginning their training sessions at 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. At 2:30 pm, the U19 men will take over the field bring the weeks training to an end.

Within this tapestry of training, a crucial thread weaves its significance: the presence of parents. The academy recognizes the unparalleled influence of familial support, the silent strength that emboldens our players to push beyond their limits.

Parental attendance at training is more than a mere act of observation; it’s a profound gesture that resonates with children, fortifying their resolve and amplifying their joy. A parent’s applause can fortify a child’s spirit, and their encouragement can echo in a young athlete’s heart long after the game is played.

This week, as our players lace their boots and take to the field, we implore parents to join us. Be the unseen wind beneath their wings, the steadfast cheer in the midst of challenge. Your presence is a testament to the value of sport in shaping the character and future of your child.

The Cook Islands Football Academy isn’t simply forging athletes; it’s crafting the narratives of tomorrow’s leaders. By standing with us, parents become co-authors of these narratives, nurturing not just athleticism but life’s virtues of teamwork, respect, and ambition.

CIFA encourages parents to come and take your place by the pitch, and bear witness to the beautiful game as it unfolds through the lives of your children. Together, let’s make the coming months not just another entry in the training log, but a chapter in a story that we’ll all remember fondly, a tale of a community united by the love of the game and the hearts of its youth.
