The Cook Islands U19 Women’s National Football Team is on their way to Tahiti to compete in the OFC U19 Women’s Championship 2025, with confidence and determination at the heart of their campaign.
Head Coach Tuka Tisam shared his optimism ahead of the tournament, stating that preparations have gone well over the past few weeks. “We’re feeling good about this team. The players have shown commitment and potential, and we believe they are ready to represent the Cook Islands with pride,” he said.
This year’s squad brings together a mix of local and overseas-based talent. The team features three overseas players — two from Australia and one from New Zealand — alongside three Aitutaki-based players and the remainder from Rarotonga. Coach Tisam believes this blend of experience and backgrounds adds depth and strength to the side.
The Cook Islands have drawn Tonga as their opening opponent, with the match scheduled for this Sunday, before facing Fiji in their second group fixture. Both matches are expected to be highly competitive, but the team remains confident of making their mark on the tournament.
