Nikao Sokattak and Puaikura are to face off today in a decisive match for the two U17 men’s teams at 4:45pm. The opening round encounter between the two sides saw Nikao come out Victorious against the top placed team Puaikura giving them a huge boost on the ladder. Today’s match is a must win for the two teams, for Puaikura, a win is needed to stay atop the table while a win for Nikao will keep them in close range of the top spot, close enough to make a comeback to win the round.
Also playing today in another important matchup is Avatiu and Tupapa Maraerenga. Avatiu will be coming out to win against Tupapa as they are eagerly trying to get their first points on the table. They nearly did so in the last match which was played against Puaikura where they kept the scores at nil-all until near the end of the second half, however, they found themselves fatigued by the constant Puaikura attacks and the ball began finding the net. A win or draw for Avatiu today will give them their first points on the table, give them a huge confidence boost and could bring Tupapa down the ladder. For Tupapa, today is a must win for them to remain atop the table.
Kicking off the day’s proceedings at 4:15pm are the U7, U9 and U11 mixed teams who will provide the most exciting fun-filled football action as they always do. Everyone is welcome to come down to the CIFA complex to enjoy the fabulous football and support the young ones in their pursuit of the round cup titles.
