Football Returns For Round 4 Action

After a short pause for the Te Maeva Nui 60th Constitution Celebrations, the 2025 Rarotonga Round Cup roars back into action this week as Round 4 kicks off.

From the grassroots divisions to the competitive U18 Men’s category, football fever is set to sweep across the island once again, starting on Wednesday 6th August.

The opening whistle for Round 4 will sound at the CIFA Complex from 4:15pm with our youngest players leading the charge. In the U6 Mixed division, Tupapa-Maraerenga FC, a side known for their lively attacking style, will meet Matavera-Ngatangiia FC, who will be eager to showcase their growing skills and teamwork. On the neighbouring field, Avatiu FC, renowned for their disciplined play, will take on a spirited Titikaveka FC outfit. Puaikura FC will sit out this round in the U6 division, taking a bye.

The action continues in the U8, U10, and U12 Mixed divisions, which will all feature the same line-up of fixtures. Puaikura FC, always a strong contender in the junior grades, will go head-to-head with Nikao-Sokattak FC, a team that thrives on quick passing and sharp finishes. Tupapa-Maraerenga FC will again face Matavera-Ngatangiia FC in what has become a regular and friendly rivalry, while Avatiu FC and Titikaveka FC will look to outplay each other in matches that promise plenty of energy and goals.

As the afternoon progresses, the focus will shift to the U18 Men’s competition, where the stakes rise and the pace intensifies. At the CIFA Complex from 4:55pm, Puaikura FC will clash with Nikao-Sokattak FC in a match-up expected to be full of pace, physicality, and technical skill. On Field 2, Avatiu FC will battle Titikaveka FC, with both sides eager to earn valuable points and build momentum as the season heats up. Over at the Takitumu School Grounds, Tupapa-Maraerenga FC will take on Matavera-Ngatangiia FC at 4:30pm, a fixture that promises to test both teams’ endurance and tactical discipline.

With each club bringing its own mix of experienced players, promising youth, and passionate supporters, Round 4 is shaping up to be a thrilling chapter in this year’s competition. Fans are encouraged to head down to the grounds, cheer on their favourite teams, and enjoy another week of football that celebrates not only skill and competition, but also the strong community spirit that defines the game in the Cook Islands.
