Matavera-Ngatangiia and Nikao Sokattak’s third encounter will kick-off this week when the two clubs meet at the Takitumu school field in Matavera.
This match being hosted by Matavera-Ngatangiia, will be one where they work towards wins in all divisions. The women’s team playing today will be aiming for their first win of the season while their men’s team playing tomorrow will aim to close the gap between them and fourth placed Titikaveka through a win.
The Matavera-Ngatangiia women have come a long way and have made a lot of progress since the beginning of the season but the hunt for their first win this year has been long and hard. However, after great recent performances against Tupapa and Puaikura, their chances of getting something on the board today are looking good. Their opponents Nikao Sokattak will not let down easily though and will make this match as challenging as possible for them.
The Matavera-Ngatangiia premier men will also be gunning for a win in their match tomorrow against Nikao however their previous results with the team have been ones to brush aside. Matavera’s young guns have speed together with skill and will need to use that to their advantage when playing against Nikao to create goal scoring opportunities and defend against the quick Nikao attack.
Nikao Sokattak on the other hand will be focused on getting points on the table to elevate their chances of taking the round cup championship back from Tupapa. They are behind on points and will need win all their remaining games to have a chance at breaking their 10-year round cup drought.
