NEIGHBORING CLUBS CLASH IN ROUND ONE
The Neighboring clubs Avatiu and Nikao Sokattak will be dusting off their boots today as they head into their first match of the season at the Avatiu Field.
Avatiu Premier Men’s Coach Ngatupuna Manuela leading into the match say’s “our side will be led by our senior players, Victor Elikana and Aturangi Putere with Terry Piri in as assistant coach. We will have a very young side hitting the field with some invaluable talent and skill, however this first game will be a combination of trial and error and will set the basis of how we will play through the season.”
On the opposite end of the field the Alex Napa coached Nikao Premier Men’s team will be a difficult team to start the season against, with a strong midfield and skillful attackers, Nikao will likely look to maintain possession in the middle of the field and feed the ball in behind the Avatiu defense for their attackers to run on to. However, the game of football can be unpredictable and Avatiu might have a few aces up their sleeve.
Meanwhile playing their first Match today as well at the CIFA Complex is Matavera and Puaikura. The Puaikura side will be trying to kick off their season against Matavera with a win and will try to do so with some of the key players from last year, while Matavera will seek to steal the show and the win from Puaikura.
