The Cook Islands Football Association (CIFA) is excited to announce the appointment of two new staff members, Teretia Teinaki and Penina Katuke, who joined the team yesterday as Football Development Officers. Both bring a wealth of experience and passion for football, and we are thrilled to have them on board as part of our dynamic technical team.
Teretia and Penina will focus on specific areas within the Technical team, contributing to CIFA’s mission of developing football across the Cook Islands. Their roles are particularly significant as CIFA prepares for the hosting of major football events in 2025, where they will also play a key part in supporting and delivering these events.
“We are delighted to welcome Teretia and Penina to CIFA,” said CIFA Technical Director Matt Campbell. “Both of them have demonstrated a strong commitment to football from a young age and have varied experiences that will help us grow the game at every level. We’re confident they will be outstanding ambassadors for CIFA and will help us reach new heights in achieving our goals.”
Both Teretia and Penina come from diverse backgrounds in football, but their shared passion for the game is undeniable. Their youth and energy will bring a fresh perspective to the team, and their enthusiasm will undoubtedly inspire others within the community to get involved in the sport.
As Football Development Officers, Teretia and Penina will not only focus on growing the sport at the grassroots level but will also play an integral role in CIFA’s broader initiatives, including player development, coaching education, and event hosting. Their presence within CIFA’s technical team is a significant step towards fostering the next generation of football talent in the Cook Islands.
In addition to their work within the Technical team, Teretia and Penina will also take on leadership roles for upcoming Futsal events scheduled for next year. CIFA is looking forward to their input in this fast-growing area of the sport, and we encourage everyone to watch this space as exciting developments unfold!
