Nikao first to beat Puaikura

Nikao’s Julius David tries to get ball pass Puaikura’s Jarves Aperau

Nikao Sokattak Premier Men’s team scored two second half goals to propel them to a 2-0 victory against Puaikura on Saturday at Raemaru Park.

In the Tower Insurance premier men’s match, Puaikura and Nikao were evenly matched during the first half with both team’s defense line denying any opportunities at goal. As the game went on, Nikao’s young striker Nuku Tetava snuck through Puaikura’s back line giving them their first goal in the 60th minute. Wasting no time after a few quick plays and hard attacking, Nikao’s speedster Julius David sped through an opening in the Puaikura defense locking in the final goal of the match.

In the other Premier men’s division matches, Matavera finished their match against Titikaveka with a two all draw at Matavera field on Saturday, while Tupapa men’s team beat Avatiu 4 goals to 1 on Friday at CIFA Complex.

For The Islander women’s match, the Puaikura women’s winning their first game two goals to nil against Nikao Sokattak. While in Matavera, Titikaveka came out on top winning two goals to one against Matavera, on Friday Tupapa faced Avatiu women’s and won 4-0.
