In the Tower Insurance Premier men’s game on Saturday, Nikao Sokattak Premier Men’s team scored a goal in the first half and two second half goals to propel them to their 3-0 victory over Matavera at Nikao Field.
Nooti Peau started off scoring their first goal, putting the ball through to the back of the net with a header, from a corner kick. Both sides had spells of possession with some half chances which went mostly to Nikao Sokattak’s favour. Matavera’s backline were kept on their toes, challenging Nikao for the ball when entering their half. Wasting no time in the second half Nikao’s strikers and mid-fielders showed neat foot work and set plays going towards the box, before lofting a fine shot past Matavera’s goalie, Nikao maintained their tireless effort and were rewarded with three goals to none.
Playing their round 4 matches at CIFA Complex, the Tupapa Premier Men’s were contested by Titikaveka, but walked off field with a 3-2 win against Titikaveka. While at Raemaru Park, Puaikura’s Dwayne Tiputoa secured their first win against Avatiu on Friday with a 1 nil score.
In the Islander Women’s match between Nikao Sokattak and Matavera, Nikao youngster Tarani Omao scored their first goal of the match, 20 minutes into the second half. With about 20 minutes to go in the match, Nikao fought to secure more goals but during the last few minutes of the game, Matavera’s mid-fielder Kimberly Uini equalized ending the match in a 1 all draw.
For the Tupapa Maraerenga and Titikaveka’s womens match, Tupapa won 3 goals to nil. While on Thursday Puaikura and Avatiu ended their match in a 1 all draw.
