PUAIKURA AND NIKAO FACE-OFF

Puaikura’s senior women will go head to head with Nikao Sokattak at 5pm today at the Raemaru Park. Puaikura’s Rai Nganu held a strong midfield against Tupapa last week and scored her sides only goal against the competition leaders. Today she will need to replicate the determination and strength she showed last week to push her side to victory. Meanwhile Nikao’s Amber Mateariki will need to make the same impact she did last week after she came off the bench during the second half to score a hat-trick against Matavera.

In the Premier Men’s division to be played tomorrow at 5pm, Puaikura’s Jarves Aperau and Tamaiva Mateariki will need to bring their A game just as they did against Tupapa, to thwart the skillful Nikao attackers. The defensive combo was able to shut down many Tupapa attacks and were fearless when the ball went into the danger zone. Should they have the same attitude against Nikao Sokattak, they will be difficult to overcome. Meanhwile, Nikao Sokattak’s Toru Mateariki, Julius David and Samuel Koiatu will be a strong attack to defend against. The attacking trio have been lethal to teams before and are very capable of creating something out of nothing.
