Puaikura and Tupapa Maraerenga who currently sit tied for first in the U17 men’s competition will play today in a thriller of a match held at the CIFA Complex in Matavera. The two sides who drew in their first-round encounter will be hunting wins to remain atop the table and will certainly be a match to watch.
Puaikura put up a strong defense against Tupapa and will need to replicate their defense to have a good chance of coming away with a win. Tupapa on the other hand will need to put away all their chances after having difficulty doing so in their last encounter to have a chance at remaining at the top.
Nikao Sokattak and Matavera-Ngatangiia will be playing at 4:45pm at the CIFA complex as well, in what is also deemed to be an exciting match. Matavera, who surprised Nikao in their first-round encounter by defeating them 2-1, will need to bring the same attitude and skill they did to defeat Nikao the first round into this second-round encounter to have a chance at coming away with another win.
Nikao Sokattak who defeated Puaikura and narrowly lost to Tupapa is considered to be one of the top contenders in the competition and will need to put away Matavera in this game to remain as one of the top contenders.
Hitting the pitch at 4:15pm will be the junior grades with Nikao Sokattak playing Matavera-Ngatangiia, Tupapa Maraerenga facing off with Puaikura and Avatiu going up against Titikaveka. As always, the excitement that is emitted through these kids is one to be absorbed and parents, family and friends are encouraged to turn up in full support to cheer on the juniors as they enjoy the game of football and compete for top honors.
