RIVALS MEET IN ROUND THREE

Puaikura and Tupapa Maraerenga will meet today as the two clubs face off for the first time this year at the CIFA complex in Matavera.

After a slow kick off to their 2019 round cup championship campaign, the Tupapa premier men struggled last week to put away Matavera and come away with a 1-0 win. Today they will play a much more resilient Puaikura side who defeated Matavera 4-0 in their first match of the season. Puaikura’s convincing win will be tip to win this game today. Puaikura’s Jarvis Aperau, will play a key role in preventing the Tupapa offence today while his teammates Conroy Tiputoa and Campbell Best will be important for Puaikura on attack.

In the senior women’s division, Puaikura and Tupapa both began their seasons on high notes coming away with wins to their name. Both teams triumphed against the young and inexperienced Matavera side. A win today could either put Tupapa in a good lead over the other clubs or can put Puaikura in a position to contest the title. The two teams will go head to head today at 2:30pm

The other games today will be play at the Nikao field where Nikao host Matavera.
