Round 5 Kickoff: Grassroots Stars and U18 Men Take the Field

The CIFA Complex and Takitumu Grounds are set to come alive this afternoon, Wednesday 13 August 2025, as Round 5 of the Rarotonga Football Season kicks off at 4:15pm with a feast of grassroots action, followed by high-intensity U18 Men’s clashes.

Fans can expect an afternoon packed with energy, skill, and passion as players from the youngest U6 Mix division right through to the talented U18 Men’s squads take to the field representing their clubs with pride. The future stars of Cook Islands football will be in the spotlight first, with matches running across the U6, U8, U10, and U12 Mix divisions at the CIFA Complex. Youngsters from Titikaveka FC, Puaikura FC, Matavera-Ngatangiia FC, Avatiu FC, Nikao-Sokattak FC, and Tupapa-Maraerenga FC will showcase their developing skills in what promises to be an exciting display of teamwork, determination, and pure love for the game. From the smallest boots in the U6 division to the more competitive U12 category, each match will be an opportunity for players to test themselves, learn, and enjoy the atmosphere of game day.

Once the grassroots matches conclude, attention will shift to the U18 Men’s division, where bragging rights and valuable points are on the line. At the CIFA Complex, Titikaveka FC will face off against Puaikura FC, while Matavera-Ngatangiia FC meet Avatiu FC in what is expected to be a fast-paced, physical battle. Over at Takitumu Grounds, Nikao-Sokattak FC will lock horns with Tupapa-Maraerenga FC in an encounter that could have a big impact on the standings. With the season now well underway, every result counts, and today’s matches will be key in shaping the competition’s mid-season picture.

Fans are encouraged to come down to either venue and enjoy an afternoon of football, supporting both the rising talents of the grassroots divisions and the competitive spirit of the U18 Men’s teams. Kick-off times are 4:15pm for grassroots divisions at the CIFA Complex, 4:30pm for U18 Men at Takitumu Grounds, and 4:55pm for U18 Men at the CIFA Complex. Round 5 is here — let’s play football.
