Round 7 Football Action Kicks Off Today

Football excitement returns to the fields this afternoon as Round 7 of the grassroots divisions and U18 Men’s competition gets underway across Rarotonga. With matches scheduled at both the CIFA Complex and Takitumu School Grounds, today promises a full line-up of energy, goals, and passion.

At the CIFA Complex, the grassroots divisions take centre stage from 4:15pm. In the U6 Mix, Matavera-Ngatangiia FC face Puaikura FC on Field 1, while Avatiu FC meet Tupapa-Maraerenga FC on Field 2. Titikaveka FC sit out on a bye this week. The action continues across the U8, U10, and U12 Mix grades, with the same match-ups lined up. Alongside those clashes, Titikaveka FC meet Nikao-Sokattak FC across the three grades, ensuring plenty of entertaining football for families and supporters.

The spotlight then shifts to the U18 Men’s competition later in the afternoon, where three key clashes are on the card. Over at the Takitumu School Grounds, Titikaveka FC face Nikao-Sokattak FC at 4:30pm. Titikaveka will be determined to come in strong after a challenging first round, while Nikao is pushing to stay on top of the table. With both sides eager to prove themselves, this one has all the makings of a tight contest.

Back at the CIFA Complex, two U18 fixtures round out the evening from 4:55pm. On Field 1, Matavera-Ngatangiia FC meet Puaikura FC. Matavera will look to bounce back with a strong showing after some inconsistent results, while Puaikura arrive in good form, aiming to keep pace with the frontrunners in the division. This match could be a turning point for both teams as the second round heats up.

Meanwhile on Field 2, Avatiu FC take on Tupapa-Maraerenga FC in what is shaping up to be the headline clash of the day. Avatiu have shown steady improvement in recent weeks and will want to use their momentum to topple one of the competition’s traditional powerhouses. Tupapa, however, remain a force and will be eager to stamp their authority early in the second round. With both sides stacked with talent, this match promises plenty of intensity and attacking football.

From the youngest players learning the game to the U18 men chasing competition points, today’s fixtures highlight the depth and spirit of football across the island. Fans can look forward to a packed afternoon of action and entertainment as Round 7 unfolds.
