The opening round of football got off to a thrilling start last Wednesday with goals galore from our junior and youth footballers. As we head into the second round of football today it will be interesting to see what changes will be made in build-up for today’s lot of games.
Kicking off today’s proceedings will be the U7, U9, and U11 mixed teams at 4:15pm. The action-packed games are always fun to watch and it was great to see many parents, grandparents and siblings at the CIFA Academy last week supporting the children and their respective clubs. The support towards the children playing is always great for the kids and helps boost their morale while playing, so it is hoped that families will continue to come and support throughout the season.
Right after the U7, U9, and U11 games will be the U17 men’s who will kick off their matches at 4:45pm. Last week’s encounters were more of a tester for teams to try out some new tactics, get used to playing again and for coaches to see where their team is at in terms of fitness and skill. Today Nikao will play Titikaveka on field 1, Matavera-Ngatangiia will face Tupapa Maraerenga on Field 2 and Avatiu will go head to head with Puaikura at the Takitumu School Field.
