YOUNGSTERS KEY TO PUAIKURA’S ATTACK

Fierce competitors Puaikura and Tupapa Maraerenga will provide nothing short of excitement and thrill when they meet today at Victoria park.

A moderate season to date for the Puaikura premier men have them placed as the underdogs heading into today’s match against Tupapa at 3pm. Although they are deemed the underdogs they always put up a good contest when they play top sides.

Puaikura’s young stars Maeva Robati and Joseph Tuaputa have played key roles on attack for their side in recent and past games and will likely be players to watch in today’s match up. The speedy, skillful pair are great at creating goal scoring opportunities for their side and will likely step up to take the challenge of doing just that when playing Tupapa today.

Tupapa’s defense has a lot of experience to their advantage and have kept the amount of goals scored against them this season as low as possible and so the challenge of scoring against them will not be impossible for the Puaikura attacking duo but it will be a very good test of their ability.

Since bouncing back from their first round low Tupapa’s attacking might has been formidable. They have managed to rack up numerous goals against teams and come away victorious against them as well. Their goal will be to come out victorious against Puaikura today to remain a top contender for the 2019 Round cup title.

The Puaikura senior women will be aiming for a win against Tupapa when they play at 1:30pm in hope of sliding into second place. Their climb however, will depend on the match between Titikaveka and Avatiu but win will nevertheless help them retain a top three spot. The side has denied Tupapa victory once already this season and are very capable of doing it again. A win for Puaikura against Tupapa will also make the defending champions round cup championship campaign more challenging and could potentially give Puaikura a small window of opportunity to steal the cup away from the women in black.

Defending champions Tupapa have a tough challenge ahead but they will put up a good contest with Puaikura and will come out striving for a win. Tupapa are very close to achieving their goal of another round cup title but they have work to do before they can lift the trophy again.
