The day is finally here, fields are cut, boots are cleaned and heads are high, equipped and ready for this years Kia Orana Youth Football Festival 2021. The time is now, to see which out of the 31 youth teams and 600+ talented football players will come out on top, to have their names in lights, imprinted on well-deserved trophy.
Here to battle in what we know will be a tough tournament are teams from Rarotonga- Avatiu, Tupapa Maraerenga, Vaka Takitumu, Nikao Sokattak and Puaikura, teams from our outer islands- Mauke, Aitutaki, Mangaia, Atiu and Mitiaro.
Tomorrows games are bound to give you a rush of excitement and keep you on your toes with unpredictable plays and skills through all minutes of the games. Three different venues with three different experiences, certain to leave you wanting more.
To open our 2021 tournament, there will be an opening ceremony at the Atukura Grounds at 5pm onwards for all our teams.
To kick off our tournament on Saturday from Pool A, will be the Under 18 Women from Puaikura and Atiu playing on field 1 at CIFA Complex, together with the Under 15 girls also playing against Puaikura and Atiu on field 2. Starting games at Takitumu Field will be led by Tupapa Maraerenga and Vaka Takitumu 18 Women’s, with the Under 15 girls from Tupapa Maraerenga taking on Mauke at Titikaveka Sports Field.
