FOOTBALL BEGINS

Football begins today with Tupapa Maraerenga taking on Titikaveka, Avatiu playing Nikao and Puaikura going head to head with Matavera in round 1 of the Round Cup Championship.

With possible nerves playing a role in today’s round of games for new players and players moving up a division, a win today could improve morale and confidence for players and teams in future games. The game of football can be unpredictable and anything is possible.

Today’s games will be much more than a game of football for some. It will be about starting strong, and making an impact right from the start while for others it will be about settling into their new teams.

To open the season today at 4:15pm the U7 and U9 mixed teams will kick off on CIFA’s field 1 while the U11 Mixed teams will commence their season on CIFA’s Field 2. Following the little kiddies will be the U17 Men’s teams who will play at 4:45pm on CIFA’s Field 1, Field 2 and the Takitumu Field.
