Schools around Rarotonga have kicked off their training sessions with the CIFA Technical department staff as they prepare for the senior and Junior one-day school tournament which will be held in early April.
The program is a key part of CIFA’s football development in the country which is aimed at developing and inspiring young children to get into the sport, have fun and hone their football skills. The program is also aimed at developing the teachers coaching skills in the sport so that they be a part of the student’s development and guide them on the field during the tournament.
CIFA development officer, Tahiri Elikana, has shared some comments regarding the program saying that he is eager to see the new talent this year will bring. “Each year the tournament gets better and better and we hope to continue that trend this year. We love to see that teachers are also putting in the effort to help develop the children and further their progress. Overall we are excited for the tournament to come.”
