Our youth teams touched base in Auckland last Saturday, and have already made a great impression in all games played, so far. Playing 2 games in the last 3 days prior to their arrival, both teams have come out with respectable results.
Starting their first day of games at McLennan Park, the U16 girls showed form during their game against Papakura City FC, winning 6 to nil. Our U15 Boys who also played Papakura City FC drew 1 all in their game, playing with great effort and skill.
Day 2 games were held at Ngahue Reserve, and taking the win once more, the U16 Girls came out with flying colours scoring, 5-0 against the girls from Central United FC. The U15 Boys played Atarangi Maori, leading 1-0 but the boys from Atarangi Maori came back in the last half scoring, putting the final score to 1-1.
Teams had a rest day yesterday, to repair, regroup and ready themselves for the last 2 days of their tour, before coming back home on Friday.
The last two days of the tour will be played at Ngahue Reserve. The Day 3 games will play today with the U16 Girls playing Fencibles United FC, at 10:30am New Zealand time, while the U15 Boys play at 1:00pm against Auckland City FC. For the final day of games, same times, same venues, different opponents, U16 Girls will be taking on the girls from Arawhiti Maori, while the U15 Boys will go head to head against the boys from Pounamu Maori.
Thank you to the supporters, families and friends in Auckland for coming out and supporting our young ones, and to those here in Rarotonga watching.
