Come and Play football takes off

Laughter and excitement echoed across the two pitches while some children compared amongst themselves what they have learned from their sessions. Over the four years of Come and Play football the children have shown extreme improvement with technique and ball skills almost nailing the basics of football while impressing their parents.
As the program runs into its second week it has been attracting 100-plus children with ages ranging from 5-years to 13-years. Come & Play is aimed at encouraging the young children to play football, pursue good health, physical activity enjoyment of the sport.
According to CIFA’s development officer Tuka Tisam the participation of children in the sessions provided a lot of fun and skills.
“With come and play in its fourth year I have seen a lot of improvement from all ages with basic ball skills and how the kids enjoy playing amongst their age groups.”
Saturday’s session will kick off at 9.00am and finish just before 11.00am and CIFA encourages those parents whose little ones that have not yet experienced this fun event to come along and enjoy a game of football.
