The 2019 Kia Orana youth football festival Kicks off today with Pool A’s teams beginning the race to this year’s finals. Mangaia’s U16 girls and tournament new comer’s Nikao Sokattak FC’s U16 girls will be the first to show their talent, as they play to take the first steps toward the title of this year’s festival at 1:00 pm today.
The under 16 boy’s division will commence directly after the girls between the same sides. Mangaia’s U16 boy’s fought hard and earnt a spot in the semifinals of the inaugural festival while Nikao is known to be a top contender in the local competitions. It will be the first time that the teams face off and therefore their knowledge of each other will be limited. With that in consideration, will their tactics be enough to thwart the opposition?
Monday will see the beginning of pool B’s contest for top spots with Atiu beginning their Kia Orana festival journey against Tupapa Maraerenga FC. While it is unknown how the game will pan out, the 2017 Boy’s champions Tupapa Maraerenga FC will play their hearts out to defend their title.
