Teams arrive for National Champs

The fourteen teams competing in the CIFA National Youth Football Championship step up their preparations this week with Mitiaro Under-15 Boys team, the first to step off the plane in Rarotonga yesterday morning with Mangaia Under-15 Boys arriving shortly after.
The championship kicks off on Saturday 16 April at the CIFA complex and will conclude in a final on Saturday 23 April to see who will win the 2011 National Champs title.
According to Mitiaro’s President Maara Taia, “they are not here on a holiday and have prepared to compete in the Youth Football Championship”.
Mitiaro Under-15 Boys have been drawn in Pool A and will meet Atiu, Te Au O Tonga and Puaikura and is scheduled to play Atiu in their first match on Saturday 16 April at 3.10pm.
The remaining teams from Mauke and Atiu arrived yesterday afternoon with the Aitutaki players and officials due to arrive this morning.
