Matavera to face Nikao

AN epic showdown is set for this afternoon in the Van’s Premier Men’s division when Matavera clash with Nikao Sokattak at the Matavera Field at 4pm today.

There is no question that Matavera will seize the opportunity to rectify their performance from their last match against Tupapa Maraerenga by gaining a victory against Nikao Sokattak. Matavera is not a team to be underestimated and taken lightly.

Nikao Sokattak showed dominance in their last match against Puaikura and will no doubt look to extend the same courtesy to Titikaveka.  The visitors will go into this match looking to stretch their lead in second place‚ where they have a three-point advantage over third-placed Puaikura.

They will look to dominate Matavera with ball possession and place the ball at the back of the net

Today’s showdown will be a test of wit and strategy which will make for some massive football action in this weekend’s fixtures.

In the other Van’s Premier Men’s match Third-placed Puaikura will visit Titikaveka.

In the women’s section the well organised Titikaveka team will start as slight favourites against Puaikura, however, if Puaikura show the same fighting qualities that they displayed against Nikao Sokattak in the last round, then they could well cause an upset.
