Matavera & Arorangi clinch first win

Matavera beat Titikavke by one goal to nil while Arorangi defeated Avatiu by four goals to two in a thrilling encounter.
Matavera scored their winning and sole goal in the first half of their match through Roimata Moetaua who quickly latched onto a through ball from his mid-fielder to sneak it past the Titikaveka goal keeper.
The second half saw Matavera and Titikaveka push into each other’s defence areas for a goal scoring opportunity but was denied by a strong defensive back however Matavera celebrated their win and added three points to their points table tally.

The result means that Matavera will now meet Arorangi in the second game next week and is likely to be an exciting match.
Arorangi dismantled Avatiu’s defence by scoring four goals to two and it was clear from the outset that the run of play would go as much in their favour. They showed class and skill during their match against Avatiu at the Matavera school grounds, slotting through two goals in the first half and both goals scored by Kimiora Samuel.
In the second spell Avatiu wasted no time, replying with thunderous shot on the edge of the eighteen yard box by Christian Toa. As quickly as the Avatiu goal was scored Arorangi responded a minute later through Dwayne Taio.
A solo effort by Arorangi’s Dwayne Taio saw him dribble from the half way mark past the Avatiu mid fielders and defenders to see his shot deflected off the Avatiu goal keeper and Taio squaring it off to his forward to score their fourth and winning goal.
Avatiu will go head to head with Tupapa while Titikaveka will battle it out with Nikao Sokattak next week Wednesday at the CIFA complex and Matavera will play Arorangi at the Matavera School grounds at 4.30pm
