Nikao Sokattak Crowned U17 Champs

As expected, the match was full of thrills and excitement as both teams battled to the last minute at the CIFA Complex in Matavera.
Takuvaine, who presented some challenges for their opponents throughout the match, played their strongest bodies to try and overcome a well-drilled Nikao squad.
But it was Nikao who brought a wealth of experienced players onto the pitch and were determined to take home the title.
With some great counter-attack plays in the midfield aread, it proved to be a tough game between the two teams, producing some fast and furious action to keep supporters on the edge of their seats.
Both teams, despite producing some great opportunities, were locked at nil-all at the break.
The battled raged on in the second spell before Nikao broke the deadlock in the 20th minute from a well-placed corner kick which deflected off the boot of young striker Toru Mateariki into the back of the net.
Takuvaine fired back in great counter-attack fashion and equalised minutes later through James Nand who powered home to bring the score to 1-1.
The tit-for-tat action continued with both teams firing at either ends of the pitch to secure the win. With only two minutes remaining in the match, it was Nikao who strategically timed a through ball past the Takuvaine goalkeeper to seal the 2-1 win.
Takuvaine tried hard to cancel the lead but ran out of time, handing the Nikao Sokattak men’s team the top honours in the U17 division.
