Vacancy: Football Development Manager

The aim of the role is to build on the unprecedented publicity of recent international successes, continue the growth of playing numbers and ensure that Auckland delivers more than its fair share of the next generation of All Whites and Football Ferns, and the coaches who work with them.
It will involve creating a blueprint for the federation within the national Football Plan, then leading a team to deliver on an array of development initiatives. These could range from a young player’s first kicks and the development of skills in junior programmes, to talent identification and elite development for the best youth players in the region.
An accomplished communicator, the successful applicant will lead and inspire staff, clubs, volunteers and external agencies to follow the vision for the game.
They will have a minimum of five years experience in player and/or coach development, with appropriate technical and managerial/business qualifications and skills.
The position has become available after Director of Football Sean Douglas landed a role as Technical Director with Football Federation Victoria in Australia while Development Officer Jeff Mitchell has also left AFF and is currently travelling overseas.
