All eyes will be on the finale clash between Aitutaki and Avarua in both the men’s and women’s division as they battle it out for supremacy or second best.  For Aitutaki, the combination-play from brothers Grover and Lee Harmon with the backing from Taylor Saghabi, Roger Manuel and Geoffrey Strickland has shone during all their matches and will definitely give them the edge over their counterparts, Avarua.  They have remained unbeaten during their games and will be attempt for a clean sweep.

Taking the helm of the Avarua men’s side, Tahiri Elikana will trust his side to produce the results that he expects from them.  With the likes of Peni Kitiona, Samuel Koiatu and Mark Leito have seen them to be lethal and a head ache for defenders and no doubt they will ensure that the Aitutaki defense is rattled from the get go.

In the women’s division, Aitutaki demonstrating that they are not done yet in this competition, defeating Takitumu in their semi-final match by one goal to nil to face Avarua in today’s final.  Aitutaki’s speedsters, Oroaere Kamoa and Kura Tare will cause problems for their opponents as they look to be the inaugural winners of the National Football Championship.

As one of the unbeaten teams in this competition, the Avarua women’s side is leaving nothing to chance as they go head to head against Aitutaki.  It is all or nothing at this stage and winning will undeniably be on their minds once the whistle sounds.

Vying for third and fourth in both men’s and women’s divisions, Mauke will take on Takitumu.  Both teams were placed in the same group and it was Takitumu who topped the group in both divisions, however Mauke is gearing up for an upset and they represent their island with pride.
