Coach development at the Cook Islands Football Association continues to reach new heights, with several local coaches taking important steps forward in their football journeys through OFC coaching pathways.
CIFA is proud to congratulate Jarves Aperau, Head Coach of the Cook Islands U16 Men’s National Team and Assistant Coach for Puaikura FC Women’s Team, after successfully gaining approval for his OFC C Licence qualification. Jarves’ achievement reflects his dedication and commitment to developing both himself as a coach and the players he works with across the local football community.
Adding to the momentum, three more local coaches have recently submitted their OFC C Licence applications, highlighting the growing interest and investment in coach education throughout the Cook Islands. The continued growth in qualified coaches is a positive sign for the future of football development in the country, as CIFA works to strengthen pathways for coaches at all levels of the game.
CIFA Technical Director Matt Campbell is also continuing his coaching education journey after being accepted into the OFC A Licence course set to take place in July. The OFC A Licence is one of the highest coaching qualifications available within Oceania and provides coaches with advanced knowledge and experience to further develop elite football environments.
These achievements reflect CIFA’s ongoing commitment to coach education and building a stronger football future for the Cook Islands. With more local coaches stepping into development opportunities and advancing through the OFC coaching pathway, the future of football leadership in the Cook Islands continues to look bright.
