The 2018 Rarotonga Football season is set to kick off this week, Thursday 16th August.
Soccer fans will have plenty to look forward to with loads of action on the field with the divisions for this season of Premier Men’s, Under 17 Men’s, Under 14 Boys, Senior Women’s, Under 14 Girl’s, Under 11 mixed and the Under 8 mixed.
“We can now countdown until the first game,’ says competition manager, Pauline Dean. “That’s when the reigning champions of all divisions will begin their 2018 campaign to retain the silverware.”
The competition will set the scene for the soccer season and will provide players and teams time to prepare before the kick-off of the first match. The 2018 Rarotonga Football Season will see clubs play each other three times with a home & away format and one to be played at the CIFA complex.
The match scheduled has been confirmed where Wednesdays are set aside for the U8 Mix, U11 Mix and U17 Men’s divisions where all matches are played at the CIFA complex and Takitumu School grounds.
Thursdays and Fridays are also match days for two clubs who will feature the U14 Boys and Senior Women’s team on Thursday with the U14 Girls and Premier Men’s team playing on Fridays. Saturdays will then see the remaining clubs play each other starting off at 12.30pm with the U14 Girls followed by the U14 Boys, Senior Women and Premier Men’s team.
For all clubs competing in the round cup tournament will have one thing in common, the yearning to win their first game.
Nikao host first match
Nikao Sokattak will host Titikaveka Football Club in the first round of games for the 2018 Rarotonga Football Season, from Thursday 16th August 2018.
