Premier final rematch at CIFA Complex

The abandoned CIFA Knockout Cup Final between Avatiu and Puaikura will now be held tomorrow at 5pm at the CIFA Complex in Matavera.

The match on Saturday was stopped after torrential rain flooded the ground, turning it into an unplayable condition.

Puaikura was leading 1-0 when the referee stopped the match in the last quarter of the opening half.

Prior to the commencement of the Puaikura versus Avatiu premier battle tomorrow, there will be a fun festival of football for the Under 8 and 11 mixed teams scheduled for 4pm.

These matches will be the curtain-raiser for the much anticipated final between the underdogs Avatiu and undefeated Puaikura, setting the tone for an exciting afternoon.

Several prizes will be up for grabs on the day for the young footballers, giving them a head start into the festive season.

Overall, it is anticipated to be a great end to the season with plenty of football thrills.

Meanwhile the senior women’s title went to Tupapa Maraerenga who overcame arch-rivals Nikao Sokattak 2-1.

Nikao Sokattak won the U17 boys title, Tupapa won the U14 boys and girls and U11 mixed grades, while the U8 mixed title went to Titikaveka.
