CIFA embraces new admin building.

The new admin headquarters is CIFA’s Fourth Goal Project with a two storey building where the top floor will be CIFA’s new administration headquarters where it will feature office space for staff members and a board room.
The ground floor will house the gym with basic fitness equipments which will enhance the physical needs of players for rehabilitation and preparation for international and national events.
The ground floor will also feature a merchandise store which will see CIFA selling souvenirs from national jerseys and so forth for locals and visitors to the Cook Islands.
CIFA President Lee Harmon says that the facilities are the fourth phases of FIFA’s Goal Programme for the national football association.
“The association is grateful and would like to thank FIFA for granting the funds to construct this new office building and gym. The gym facilities will be of great benefit to local players in terms of preparation for local and international tournaments”.
Also included in this Goal Project was the upgrade of the number one pitch which was headed by Laurie Stubbing of Vusich and Borich Ltd from New Zealand. Mr. Laurie assisted by CIFA’s green-keeper Peter John had the task of identifying the problems with drainage and completing the upgrade within a week of Mr. Laurie’s visit. The number one pitch is now waiting for growth of new grass seedlings when it will then be ready for football activity.
The Admin building was designed by local architectural firm Romani Designs and constructed by Landholdings Limited.
CIFA has already completed the first three Goal Projects which consisted of the CIFA accommodation, a national football academy with two international playing pitches which were completed and opened in 2004 and a grandstand with changing facilities which were completed and opened in June of last year.
