Aitutaki Football Headquarters set to open

The new facility is part of FIFA’s Development Goal Programme designed to meet the needs of national member associations.
On November 16, 2012 the groundbreaking ceremony took place which marked the commencement of the construction of the project which will be used to oversee the progress of football on the island of Aitutaki.
The headquarters consist of a modern administration facility and education centre for up-skilling coaches, referees and administrators. The complex also includes a two room accommodation and kitchen facilities.
The Aitutaki project is constructed by local contractor Zecharia Williams and designed by Romani Katoa who is also the project manager.
Aitutaki FA President, Tiraa Arere is excited for the up-coming inauguration of their new facility next month.
Invited guests expected to attend this historic moment for Aitutaki Football are prominent figure heads on the island of Aitutaki, Cook Islands Football Association representatives and most importantly Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and FIFA representatives from overseas. Government officials are also expected to attend the inauguration next month.
