The Cook Islands Football Association (CIFA) recently conducted a successful development visit to Mauke, led by Technical Director Matt Campbell, alongside Grassroots Development Officer Susan Williams, Women’s Football Development Officer Teretia Teinaki, and Futsal Development Officer Penina Katuke.
The team delivered the FIFA 4 Schools Coach Education Programme, providing teachers, coaches, and community members with practical football coaching skills while promoting important values such as teamwork, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles. Participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to make football both fun and educational for young people.
As part of the visit, CIFA also donated futsal goals to support the continued growth of futsal on the island. The new equipment will provide schools and the wider community with greater opportunities to play and develop the sport.
Technical Director Matt Campbell acknowledged the enthusiasm shown by participants and emphasized the importance of bringing development opportunities to the Pa Enua. The visit also allowed CIFA staff to engage with local stakeholders and discuss future opportunities for football and futsal development in Mauke.
CIFA extends its sincere thanks to the Mauke community for their warm hospitality and support. Through initiatives such as FIFA 4 Schools and futsal equipment donations, CIFA remains committed to growing the game and creating positive opportunities for young people throughout the Cook Islands.
