Come From Behind Win for Football Champs

Tupapa Maraerenga came from behind to put down a spirited Matavera.
Under soggy and slippery conditions, the two teams turned on the heat, fighting tooth and nail in desperation to get on the scoreboard.
After a relentless effort and some desperate defending, the determined visitors managed to score the first goal of the match in the 30th minute from Andre Pareanga, taking the lead, one goal to nil to the surprise of the favoured home side.
Tupapa Maraerenga fought back hard and equalised eight minutes later through Paavo Mustoneen, to head into the break with a one all score line.
The end to end action continued in the second spell with both teams pushing hard to get the winner but failed to execute their moves.
The star-studded Tupapa Maraerenga with the likes of Mustonen, Campbell Best, Twin Tiro, Sunai Joseph, Sato Mariri and Anthony Samuela continued heaving pressure on Matavera.
But Matavera, led by former national rep Paul-Luiz Van Eijk in defence, stood tall to keep their opponents at bay.
The side also had a fair share of chances midway the second spell but squandered them through lack of coordination between their striking pairs.
Tupapa spurred by the home support maintained their tireless effort and were rewarded in the dying stages of the match after Twin Tiro smashed home the winner to seal the two goals to one win.
