Moving handover ceremony for donated equipment

The ceremony was attended by Israeli Ambassador to the Cook Islands Mr. Shemi Tzur, Hon. John Henry, Associate Minister of Sports, CIFA President Mr. Lee Harmon and Reagan Milstein Foundation’s CEO Mr. Kevin Milstein along with invited guests who came to witness the donation of football equipments.
Prior to officially handing over the football equipment to Cook Islands Football, Reagan Milstein Foundation CEO and father of Regan Milstein addressed the ceremony of how he is delighted to be donating the equipment to the Cook Islands Football because of his son’s love for the game.
“It is my pleasure to be here today to witness and give the football equipment to Cook Islands Football,” says Kevin Milstein.
“I am proud to see my son through football and the gears that the young footballers will be wearing on the pitches, it is a gift of giving from my heart,” says Milstein.
Milstein went on to say that it is the foundations goal to change the life of one child then possibly through that child it will spread to another and until it reaches a whole community. Furthermore, we hope to also leave an impression of Reagan through the young children and in football as his favourite sport.
It was sad to learn how Reagan Milstein passed away at a tender age of 14 and how Kevin, the father went out of his way to raise funds to create this foundation in remembrance of his son and the sport he loves, Football.
“I don’t think many people will do what Kevin Milstein has done by forming this foundation and distributing the equipment to Pacific Island countries including us here in the Cook Islands. What a blessing this is for our young children in the outer islands and Primary Schools here on Rarotonga, ” said CIFA President Lee Harmon.
“Kevin you have come at the right time, our stock of equipment we receive from our international body FIFA has depleted dramatically over the last few months,” says Harmon.
Harmon also went on to thank the government and especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs for negotiating this handover exercise on behalf of the Cook Islands.
Cook Islands Football Association would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the foundation and Kevin Milstein for what they have done.
The Reagan Milstein Foundation is an Australian-based non profit organisation that has been created in the memory of a popular and sports-loving teenager Reagan Milstein, who died tragically at age 15 after a scuba diving accident in July, 2010.
