Snow Gas Men’s team trumps 5-a-side soccer

Snow Gas remained undefeated throughout the round and maintained their position at the top of the table.
Unlucky for Rima’s Takeaway they could not retain their second place position, after Wantoks defeated a depleted Pushchair Boys team 8-4 to move them up from third place.
In the bottom five division Virgin Ave claimed the top spot after they beat Titikaveka 4-2.
“This year’s five-a-side was a competitive one in this division,” says competitions manager Pauline Dean.
She said the top and bottom five division split proved successful, noting that it intensified the matches and teams were motivated to play harder and wiser throughout the round.
“It gave everyone something to be excited about and it was the fast-paced action you could expect from teams who measured up equally on the pitch.
“We would like to congratulate Snow Gas and Virgin Ave on their victories, as well as to all the other teams who stepped up to the challenge of joining in this year’s five-a-side season.”
This rounds up the five-a-side season for the senior divisions with the juniors to continue their matches this week.
